A Journey That Changed Everything

2023

Arrived in the UK to pursue an MA in Interior Design — chasing a dream far from home.

Nov ’24

Completed her Masters degree. Then booked a flight home to Odisha for the first time in over a year.

A village visit changed the course of everything. A business idea was born.

2026

Oneel’s Ltd officially registered in England & Wales. The mission to empower women farmers is live.

My name is Oneel. In September 2023, I boarded a flight to the UK to chase a dream — a Master’s degree in Interior Design. I gave everything to that course. I graduated in November 2024, and for the first time in over a year, I was going home.

In December 2024, I visited my family’s village in Odisha. We sat with relatives, shared food, and caught up on all the months I’d missed. But something shifted during those conversations.

“The women were farming, earning, cooking, raising children, managing every rupee — and still finding ways to save. The men were spending theirs.”

I saw women who worked from sunrise to sunset in the fields, brought home an income, fed their children, paid school fees — and somehow still built small savings. The data backed what I was seeing: women farmers in India consistently outperform men in financial responsibility and household contribution.

I couldn’t leave and forget. I decided that if I was going to build something, it would be built on their work, their land, their strength. I came back to the UK with a business plan instead of just a degree.
